World Market Therapy

When ever I'm in need of a morale boost, one of the places I like to go is World Market. I love everything about the store. The mixture of styles, colors, and smells. I'd happily live there.

I start in the paintings area since its right by the door. I pick out my favorites and convince myself I will paint them at home instead of buying any. Guess how many times I've actually done that?

ZERO

Whatevs it makes me feel good and that's what this is about.

I move onto jewelry and bags from there. Today I found this cute bracelet. I love the color and I already own a dress it will match perfectly. Fist pump

World Market $4.99

From there I wondered into the paper area. Soon as I spotted this journal I knew it was coming home with me. I haven't bought myself a journal in a very long time since now I prefer most things digital but there is still something very therapeutic about sitting in a comfy chair with a warm cup of tea or coffee and spilling your thoughts onto the pages. Plus I LOVE giraffes!

World Market $14.99

When I was a little girl my dad took me to the Minnesota State Zoo and we went into the giraffes in-door exhibit. My dad was holding me so I could see better when one of the giraffes leaned all the way down to me and stuck out his big black tongue. I can't remember now if i was holding some food or what the reason was for them doing that but it was just the coolest thing to be so close to such a gentle giant and I've loved them ever since.

I was about to skip past the wall of greeting cards when I remembered my dad's birthday is just around the corner. Probably triggered by the zoo memory. I feel like I never do as much as I should for his birthday. It's hard living in different states, requires me to plan ahead which I'm not always so great about. Not this year! Found this card that made me laugh and I know he will too.

World Market $3.49
I looked at furniture next and saw a very comfy looking sectional couch that looked small enough to possibly fit in my living room and the price was $599 which may be doable. I forgot to take a picture of the couch but I did snap its info card so I check whether the measurements would actually fit. I've been wanting a new couch for awhile now, hopefully can make it happen in the next few months.

Of course I like looking through their grocery area as well. Who doesn't? All sorts of different stuff you don't see most places and all the tempting chocolate! I picked up a Milka bar. They're the best, you should try one if you haven't already, and if you have you should try it again to make sure it's still good. Just to be on the safe side ;)

I went to a couple more stores after World Market. I was on the hunt for a couple side tables for the living room but that didn't pan out today. I was so hungry by the time I got home. Luckily I had a plan in mind already. Nothing worse than being absolutely starved and still nothing in the kitchen holds any appeal.

I made a recipe I saw on The Londoner recently called Slutty No-Carb Pasta. On a side note real quick, I love love love her blog and it was one of the reasons I decided to start my own. Check it out, but then please come back. Actually scratch that, don't go. Her life is far more interesting than mine and you most definitely won't return.

insecure laugh.....cough

Anyway, Rose made hers with zucchini instead of pasta but I don't have the tool (spiralizer) to be able to do that. So I just used whole wheat spaghetti instead. Turned out quite yummy. I think next time I may add some sliced zucchini and mushrooms as well just to thicken it up a bit. The flavor was great though, it just needed some more substance for me. Feast your eyes.

Lunch: Bucket of Parmesan cheese with a dash of spaghetti
I was full and happy by the last bite. A great start to a Saturday and looking forward to the rest of the weekend. Catch you on the flip side.
